The Classroom
[the following bit was written during the exams,it was written in total agitated state of mindthat is why there may be only truth in the part which may be offencive to some people]
Have u guys seen the education systems in our schools..i mean wtf are we doing..only thing that we do in the school is go there early morning sit teachers come they just read the lesson and give notes(which is just question and answers)which u cant call notes as its definately not easier than the one in textbook and sometimes just tell us the meaning of few words(we could just use a dictionary)...for maths computer and accounts(yup,me a commerce student)its no different either u get these guide books which can help u mug up and get readymade answers..
one of my school teachers has given us an assignment can call it written assignment from past one week 1st she gives us like 40 questions and expects us to give it in a few days and now she gives another 30 or so questions and she wants it in 2 days and you know whats the reason for this "assignment" its gonna help us understand the subject better,will improve our marks and all that bullshit!!!what the hell is wrong with people,imagine if we spent all that time doing something else like using that time and energy to actually study the subject according to that individual as everyone has a different method of studying some learn and write,some write and learn..
Its not that its bad thing is they could have just given us something more fun to do like projects or something,i just read that at the end of every chapter(of the vusiness studies)we have all these tasks and projects which "if" we could do then we would enjoy it and simultaneously learn it in a more practical way which will leave an last impression as we would have understood the whole concept..but nope that does not happen we just gotta write question and answers thats why we go to school...to"learn"...
these exams of 10th and 12th they just check our memory man,a person getting high marks need not necessarly be better than an avg mark scorer who can understand the topic in real life situations and solve it...
they say they have got in practicle exams in ..yeah!!(nope) but what on earth are they teaching us..in todays world we learn methods which were used 8498438643082393 years ago!!!!
i would really like it if there was such type of education,with all "modern"practical work with case study problem solving and all that..
all in all our education system till +2 level needs a major overhaul or chuck the system and replace it with a whole new system..i do know its easy to tell but we gotta start sometime..

hmm...interestin topic... but all the sujects cannot be thaught from the projects..nor can they be thaught by givin some 30-40 questions... i agree u sure do need a better way education.. but we dont really knw what is good for us.. coz whatever system we are in.. we will keep complainin..sure it wud be interestin for a few weeks..but then again....(ok..i jst realised i wrote one whole para)

@shreya:finally someone replied...why did u stop,go on...not necessarly projects also u can include field trips like suppose ur doing business studies international trade..the skl can like take us to these warehouses to see how the paper work n all are done what the steps are involved..and if u see in other countries children get to choose their core subjects in early classes..here all of us are stuck with 5 -6 common subjects..what say?
ha ha..not bad..field trips ..yeah it sure is a good idea..but not all parents/school could afford it...so not all of them could possibly take the students... the ones which can.. like our school..they r jst not interested.... i think the most possible is that the teachers ..make it interestin through the way they teach us..by giving appropriate and interestin examples and illustrations... an school by not appointing any lady/man who walk in for an interview.. an makin sure that they r well versed..have good communication skills with children...i guess i have blabbered too much..

yup i do agree with u..but considering our skl..they get a hell lot of funds..and i am very sure they can afford to take us on field trips...but they just wont and i dono why..their reasons are horrible neway...and no shreya u r not blabberin too much..u make total sense...but if we could only tell them..but will they listen...nnnoooooo...and yes also in our case (cv-blah)..our teachers r HORRIBLE...and these teachers need to have a little more interest even in wht they teach..they come looking so bored to death..not all of them but yes a few..

@ all of u:it seems this is the kind of topic which is apt for a debate...cool...
the thing is if u got a skeptical mind everything can seem sucked even when it isnt n if ur like foolishly optimistic even the worst can seem pleasant.....u cant possibly think every skl runs on its own..most of the time there is an institution behind it making certain demands frm the teachers(read:helluva lot of pressure)..n this kinda makes it diffucult for them to run the class the way they want...n the ones which can follow their own will just lack the initiative coz who cares abt learning when mugging up can get the skl 95% right?besidesthere are plenty who can hate the system,say what changes can make learning moe fun n interesting...there'l be hundreds of discussions on this topic..mayb 4 timepass mayb not..but in the end not one is actually inspired to do anything abt it..no1 is ready to talk to the ones in charge n tell em we're right ur wrong,hands down.there is hardly any point in debating abt which is th right way to learn n which is the wrong..case closed.delete thing this if u think its too long yog,just wanted to get my point across.
