The Classroom

[the following bit was written during the exams,it was written in total agitated state of mindthat is why there may be only truth in the part which may be offencive to some people]

Have u guys seen the education systems in our schools..i mean wtf are we doing..only thing that we do in the school is go there early morning sit teachers come they just read the lesson and give notes(which is just question and answers)which u cant call notes as its definately not easier than the one in textbook and sometimes just tell us the meaning of few words(we could just use a dictionary)...for maths computer and accounts(yup,me a commerce student)its no different either u get these guide books which can help u mug up and get readymade answers..

one of my school teachers has given us an assignment can call it written assignment from past one week 1st she gives us like 40 questions and expects us to give it in a few days and now she gives another 30 or so questions and she wants it in 2 days and you know whats the reason for this "assignment" its gonna help us understand the subject better,will improve our marks and all that bullshit!!!what the hell is wrong with people,imagine if we spent all that time doing something else like using that time and energy to actually study the subject according to that individual as everyone has a different method of studying some learn and write,some write and learn..
Its not that its bad thing is they could have just given us something more fun to do like projects or something,i just read that at the end of every chapter(of the vusiness studies)we have all these tasks and projects which "if" we could do then we would enjoy it and simultaneously learn it in a more practical way which will leave an last impression as we would have understood the whole concept..but nope that does not happen we just gotta write question and answers thats why we go to school...to"learn"...

these exams of 10th and 12th they just check our memory man,a person getting high marks need not necessarly be better than an avg mark scorer who can understand the topic in real life situations and solve it...

they say they have got in practicle exams in ..yeah!!(nope) but what on earth are they teaching us..in todays world we learn methods which were used 8498438643082393 years ago!!!!

i would really like it if there was such type of education,with all "modern"practical work with case study problem solving and all that..

all in all our education system till +2 level needs a major overhaul or chuck the system and replace it with a whole new system..i do know its easy to tell but we gotta start sometime..

Russell peters in bombay

mark this date(well for me)3rd march 2007 8:00PM...it was d day of many 1st..the main one being i laughed for 2 hours at a streach non stop and its something to take 2 hours of laughing u do get pain in parts of ur body...went all the way to bombay just for the show but at the end it was all worth it as even bhanu had come from pune to accompany me at the show(there was a show in b'lore but by the time decided to go only the last show for b'bay was available)
the thing that shocked me was that he has not been to india before(for a show)and the response for the tickets were just amazing,almost all the tickets were sold out within a day of opening and they actually added two shows on the whole tour..he must be proud to see how popular he has become with just word of mouth and youtube...

he hardly repeated any jokes from his other shows the rest were all new and they were so funny man..
the best joke i like was abt louis vuitton and the one where how badly indian food upsets non indian ppls stomach...

this guys is totally hilarious,hes definately the worlds best stand up,anything that comes out of his mouth seems funny he makes fun of the audience all the time..calls us bastards and we still like him..the best thing abt this guy is he is frank does not give a rats ass and tells everything thats true in a very funny way...and also it seems that he makes the jokes up on stage interacting with the audience and making fun with/at them,it does not feel like he mugges the jokes up or something...

for all the guys and girls i guess its time u get to know his work as when u do u will surely make him ur god..next time he in the country do try to attend his shows..

got two tickets one for me and one for my friend bhanu(sure u guys remember him,if u have been reading my blog)...hes coming in from pune just for the show..really happy will be meeting him after a long time....will write the whole experience in my future posts but fornow for all those ppl who do not know who this guy is,here are a couple of videos...

What grinds my gear part (8)

what really grinds my gears is that why do we still cut cakes(i dunno why but i dont like cakes) on birthdays...a better question who the hell started the trend of cutting a cake on a birthday..is it somesort of an official thing that u should cut a cake..why cant we cut something else a pizza,sandwich,ur hair,old tapes...think abt it and if anyone knows how did d cake cutting thingy began pls do let me know...

Birthday party/surprise

few facts that i have learnt in the past few weeks...
1.mercedes spends abt 1 million us$ a day for R&D(is that not just the greatest thing u have heard,dey spend so much to make our life simpler n SAFER)
2.my classmates think the language dey speak in china is CHINES...
3.they also thought the tallest building was in china or japan..
(fact #2 and #3 occured in d 1st period of today when all the computer students were sitting together)
4.and my fav car of the week is the porsche 911(planning to launch this thing of fav car of the week thingy with the current what grinds my gears)

ok the main part...had to go for a birthday thingy today,the rules decided by the others were not to talk abt the birthday infront of her(sneha,duh) and not to wish her on the birthday but as usual (almost)everyone goofs up(er..including me,but hey got two 5star bars for that) i wished her before the official wishing time which was supposed to be the main thing the surprise at her HOME..wat was planned was to wait at her residence before she comes and all will wish(read as JUMP ON)her on arrival..dat turned out good they were like 20 ppl all close by without a gap inbetween..it was a nice chilled out(tried playing a game but then no one seemed interested so threw that idea outta d window and decided to just talk)afternoon/evening at her place with so many ppl at her terrace(ish)...best part of all there was lots of food!!!n i mean lots of it...it was also the 1st party(in friends) where i had my digicam(yup,i have finally switched to digi)with me so i was like going around clicking snaps taking vids,aah clicking(shooting..um watever) is so much fun(for me)i could see people getting irritated but wat could i do i enjoy it..

should say good planning by few of the girls they got us permission so dat we dont have to go for accounts tution,they arranged d cakes,maintained a good secrecy...did all the calling work and all the other boring work which has to be done n which goes into the making of a good surprise party...so *applause* to them..

remember i had made a post on diesel engines few months back,if u dont remember u can find it here...well i used that in an indian oil competition with just a lil bit of tweeks..n guss what i came 2nd...woo hoo!! prize amount for 300 bucks..guess should use my blog topics for other competitions too..what say??

THE QUIZ a.k.a TRICK

today went for the sboa g.k quiz competetion held at the school Dining room in somepart of annagar where i haven't been to in my whole life..the total quiz thing,dont know how it happened someone bloody gave in my name n said i could not back outof it(i mean what the..does it look like i wanted to go for a quiz)..yest d teacher told me come to skl(dats coz i normally dont go)n the skl will take u guys there..and what happenes today!!dey tell me to go in a freakin bus"go in the 7f(or something)bus from kellys to sboa n find out from there which bus comes back to our skl"wtf!!!!!!went outaa d skl caught an auto with my quiz"partner"n reached the place at 9:30 due to start at 10,it started at 12 until den,since i knew it was general knowledge quiz i decided not to learn or anyhthing cause it was "general"so i decided to stick to the topic but when i was there spending 2 hours doing nothing i was looking at people reading this really huge fat gk books..so d prilims started n we were given to solve 25qs in 15 mins my partner was so great he thought that its all based on india so he gave names only of indian peopl,indian companies,indian places n what not(i gave ,of which 4 were correct)n when d quizmaster called out the answers after announcing the final 4 teams(dint make it)i could not hear a single indian name..dam!!wat an idiot!!its ok we'll have to share the blame..
aah...i just saw an video option on orkut..looks like we got new features..

a little change has been made to the blog..since i have entered into the new blogger finally thought will try out a bit of their tools...

2 important things happened on 26 jan 2007

one which the whole india knows the 60th year of republic india...the indian republic year..but we have been seein that year after year for the past 60 yrs.......
on 26th jan the new auto fares were imposed(was it really??)by which the fares are like Rs14 upto 2km min den Rs6 for every km..dey can charge 25% more at nights and rs0.40 for waiting every 5 mins(i think)
dey have been given time of 6 weeks for eletric meters to upgrade to newer system and 6 months for the normal meters to install eletronic meters and financing will b provided by the govt!!
this sounds so bloody dam good in the newspapers!!!!

i happened to be using this mode of transport on THE DAY(26th jan,duh!)and no bloody auto guy was following the rules we were 3 of us ayush gokul n me,tried atleast 10autos but no one would come and if they did were charging way too high,we were getting late
(think it was 10) so we finally decided to get an auto agreeing to pay high price without the meter running,on our way back gokul n his thing with "public relations"that he calls it started to talk with the driver by just one question "why dont u guys use this meter"in tamil naturally and wow!!the drive just kept talking,he was like u guys can try all u want but this wont happen at all,if any passenger wants us to use the meter we'll just not agree and move away..n blah blah blah..the prices are just too low for us to survive..blah blah blah...he went on non stop until gokul got off on the way!!i dont know what type of magice did he do but he totally brain washed gokul man!!gokul was like let him keep the change when u guys get of(Rs20 change..he does not want it..wat is he crazy!!!)and so i did,but they shoulnt encourage this sort of stuff yaar,look at mumbai why cant our city b like that....
would like to know ur experiences if they have been using things properly,looks different,or they still the same old ppl...
